Short Description
More five tools to benefit Ramadan.
11- Be spiritually and psychologically prepared
This could be done by reading books and articles, and listening to beneficial lectures and lessons which highlight the virtues and rulings of fasting, so that the soul is prepared for worship in this month. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to prepare the souls of his Companions to utilize this meritorious month; he used to say: "Ramadhaan has come to you. It is a blessed month in which Allaah Showers you with mercy, Removes sins, Answers supplications, Observes your competition in it, and Is Proud of you before His Angels. So, show Allaah the best of your deeds, for the miserable man is the one who is bereft of the Mercy of Allaah in this month." [At-Tabaraani and others (its narrators are trustworthy)]
12- Strive against yourself and give up your bad habits
Bad habits, for instance, include staying up late for no purpose, over sleep, over eating, watching cheap media, uncontrollable shopping, and other habits which leave no resolve to do acts of worship. Strive against yourself starting from now till you overcome all these difficulties. Whoever strives hard will find good results, and whoever plants will surely reap fruits.
13- Prepare yourself well for calling to Allaah
In Ramadhaan, the souls are ready, the hearts are open, and the devils are chained. Calling to Allaah The Almighty is one of the best, most sublime and pure acts. How could it not be so when Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allaah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims."} [Quran 41:33] You can prepare some gifts for Ramadhaan and distribute them among the worshipers at the Masjid and the people of the neighborhood when this blessed month arrives. Remember the poor and needy people and try to give them charity and Zakaah.
14- Open a bright new page with Allaah
Open a new page with Allaah The Almighty by knowing Him, drawing closer to Him, and returning to Him. Open a new page with the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, by adhering to his Sunnah; with one’s parents by obeying them and being dutiful to them; and with society by being a righteous and useful person. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: "The best of people is the one who benefits them most." Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullaah, May Allaah Be Pleased with him, said: "When you fast, let your hearing, your sight, and your tongue fast as well by abstaining from lying and prohibited matters. Do not harm one’s neighbors, and clothe yourself with the garment of solemnity and tranquility on the day of fasting. Do not make the day of fasting and the day of not fasting the same."
15- Try to fast Ramadhaan twice
This happens by providing food for a fasting person to break his fast with whenever possible, even if it is little. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: "The one who provides food for a fasting person to break his fast will receive a reward like him without affecting the reward of the fasting person in the least."
