Sunnah of declaring adherence to Fitrah
Fitrah is meant to refer to the nature that leads to the true faith (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone), and to like the good and dislike the bad. This sound Fitrah is instincted into every human being, however, the enviromental and educational factors may change this fitrah and distort it. In this regard, Abu-Hurairah related that Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, said: (Every child is born with a true faith (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone) but his parents convert him to Judaism or to Christianity or to Magainism), bukhary and Muslim.
The Muslim should remain steadfast to this fitrah to the last moment of his life, because a Muslim dies on fitrah dies a monotheist, and therefore will dwell paradise.
The Prophet taught us a daily wonderful sunnah by which we declare that we are on the sound fitrah and adhereing to the straight path of the prophet Muhammad and all Messengers and Prophets of Allah. It is narrated in An-Nasai, ranked Hasan by Al-Albani, that the Prophet, pbuh, used on mornings to utter the following words: (we entered upon morning on fitrah of Islam, word of sincerity, path of our prophet Muhammad, pbuh, and the true faith of our father Ibrahim who never was polythesit.)
At another narration related by Imam Ahmad on the authority of Abdulrahman ibn Abza the same wording of the aforementioned Hadith but by addition "on morning and evening". This narration sated that this supplication is said on morning and at evening. It is said for once.
