Every nation live the same phases that man lives during the wheel of life. A nation is born week in the beginning, and then it becomes stronger gradually till it reaches the phase of youth, where it uses excessive power – sometimes in an unwise manner. After that it enters into a new phase of maturity and stability. Ultimately, it enters the phase of old age which is followed by death.
We witnessed these phases in the Persian, Byzantine empires as well as in the civilizations of Pharos and Babylon. We witnessed them in England, France and lately in Soviet Union. Now we witness them in America.

During the last sixty years – since the end of the Second World War- America reached the utmost level of its glory while achieving many successes that it never dreamed of, especially after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. American fleets started to wander around the world. The American hegemony dominated over most presidential palaces in the world. Finally, America became the most important single power in the world.
Despite the shock that America received in 11th September 2001 – irrespective of who was the doer?-, America recovered quickly and started to, professionally, use this event politically. It expanded its hegemony over many parts of the world under the claim of pitching a war against terrorism. It invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. It started slowly to urge more conflicts in Sudan, Liberia, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and others.

We witnessed all these events. The American rise is so clear, but it will never continue. The reason is that the continuity of this rise contradicts the established system of the universe. Allah, the Almighty, says: {And he whom We grant long life, We reverse him in creation (weakness after strength). Will they not then understand?} [Surah Yaseen: 68]
It is inevitable, then, that America reaches the phase of old age. However, this does not necessarily mean a quick death or fast fall. It is common that such fall occurs through a gradual decrease of power and potentials day by day exactly like the case of an old man.
We have witnessed a clear decline of the American power, especially from 2004 till now. The following examples reinforce this view.

America failed to impose a secure security situation in the Muslim country of Iraq after occupying it.
America failed to destroy Taliban movement and failed to kill its leaders, despite the fact that America succeeded in changing the regime of Afghanistan and appointed a government that is loyal to US.
America failed to make any serious move against North Korea which clearly declared that it will never stop developing its nuclear weapon. The same thing happened with Iran that moves fast towards developing its nuclear project.

America failed to stop the increasing economic development of China. Moreover, America had to make deals and treaties with China. We witnessed the Chinese products invade the world markets, high-level Chinese oil deals, Chinese invasion of the space, and Chinese weapon development. There is no proper American reaction to these Chinese achievements.

America failed to tame Russia that is dreaming to regain the glories of its ancestors. Russia invaded Chechnya and other republics, and now it interferes in the affairs of Georgia. Also, Russia interferes in most of the international negotiations. America had to ignore all these Russian practices because in return Russia will not use Veto against US concerning the issues of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.

America failed to suppress the continuous revolutions in Latin America. This rejection of the American power was not only from the public but also from the governments. Everyone there declared his enmity to America. Now, there are strong Latin countries such as Brazil and Venezuela. Recently, Bolivia, Mexican, and Honduras kicked out US ambassadors.

We know about the continuous Japanese vote concerning the establishment of a Japanese army in order to get out the American hegemony, which exist from sixty years ago.
Recently, we witnessed the biggest monetary crisis in the history of America.
All these events and others indicate that America has already started the phase of old age exactly like that one which England witnessed after the Second World War. This phase might continue for long time, but it will surely come to an end, which is the same fate of the previous great international powers. Allah, the Almighty, says: {This is the established way of Allah which has occurred before. And never will you find in the way of Allah any change.} [Surah al-Fath: 23]

The Question which strongly imposes itself here is:

What shall we do towards these international changes? Will we just watch? Will we just guess: who will be the successor of America? Is it China, Russia, India, or the New Western Union?
The history of humans entirely witnesses to the fact that there is no place for the weak on the map of powers. The world does not really respect anyone unless he is protected by force. The types of force are numerous, and one should own a force. If Muslims do not own such force, this will mean that they forsake the high status that Allah gave to them.

The Muslim Nation is an immortal nation. However, what happens is that when a Muslim generation gives up the means of leadership and power, Allah totally replaces such generation with another one. {Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic.} [Surah al-Mâ'idah: 54]
Let all Muslims be aware lest they may be substituted. Let us all figure out our power along with its means. In this respect, whoever wants to know more details let him/her refer to the Qur'an and Sunnah.
