What was the reason behind your visit to Indonesia and what were its goals?
The visit was for Da`wah, Al-Kawthar as the most senior publisher house in Indonesia sent an invitation to me. It translated into Indonesian language my book titled "What did Muslims introduced to the world?" which won the State Award (Award of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs – Egypt), so I was invited by those in charge of Al-Kawthat publishing house to attend the opening ceremony of the International Indonesia Exhibition Book Fair.
Were you invited to deliver some lectures there?
Actually, I was invited to Book Signing "What did Muslims introduced to the world?", and then a seminar was held discussing the book in the Book Fair, where I delivered a speech summarizing the content of the book, and then welcomed the queries about the book which reflected deep insight.
Also, I was invited to deliver a lecture on the sidelines of the conference in the Indonesian Supreme Council Foundation, which combines several Islamic organizations in Indonesia.
It was founded in the sixties, and is still working hard to propagate Da`wah in Indonesia. The lecture was delivered in Arabic, and the audience number was large who were students learning Arabic in the institution which made the lecture as a kind of training or practice. The questions centered on the Islamic civilization and its origins and causes. Also, I have delivered another lecture entitled: "The Islamic Civilization" in the Da`wah young Indonesians Institution. The discourse through questions and inquiries touched the current conditions of the Islamic nation. As well, I was invited to some press conferences with some newspapers and websites and the Indonesian channels, and it is actually striking that the Indonesians are fully aware of the incidents taking place in the Arab world, especially Egypt.
Has your visit left certain impression about Indonesia and its people on you?
In general, the visit was prosperous, and left a good impression about Indonesia and its people. Indonesia is a very crowded country for its huge people; yet, traffic rules are observed strictly. It stroke my eyes that places like companies, hotels, exhibition, and the like have no beggary, as begging is banned by law, however, the new point is that the law punishes both the beggar and the donor, which eliminated beggary. Indonesians are known for quietness, kindness, and friendliness.
How about translating your book: "What did Muslims introduced to the world"?
Translating the book into the Indonesian language made it the best book translated in Indonesia in 2014 AD when compared to other four books.
